Smiling on Sunday

I decide to reward myself.

I went to May’s Garden Spa, Roppongi for 120 minuets body treatment and 60 minuets facial treatment.

I relaxed my body there.

In the afternoon, I invited my friends for lunch and chatting.

Today, my friend brought a baumkuchen.

Though, I enjoyed these cakes, none of my friends brought so-called birthday cake.

We are school mates; we had so much to talk as long as eight hours!

We laughed through.

I was smiling all day long.

Wonderful Birthday

It’s nice sunny day and it’s my birthday.

I texted my friends for tea and dinner.

Though, my invitation was at last minutes, they came.

They brought cakes and sang the birthday song for me.

So sweet of them!

We chatted, laughed, drunk and ate.

Having a wonderful time together is the best birthday gift.

Thank you my friends.

Birthday Eve

It’s my birthday eve.

I had been handling a project which is held in March around my birthday; therefore, I couldn’t enjoy or celebrate my birthday for 15 years.

This year, the project is handled by other colleague so my mind is in peace.

I also had wonderful surprises today.

My friend sent me early birthday wishes with hearty words which made me smile.

And after helping my boss’s wife for some translation, she returned to office with a surprise.

It’s so sweet of her and thanked Boss for a nice (I mean NICE) birthday gift.

I was thinking of getting a lipstick for coming Spring and this is the shade of colour that I was thinking of!

Thank you Mr. And Mrs. Boss.

And tonight, went to dinner with my choice of food and restaurant: my favorite French Restaurant Aux Six Arbres, Roppongi.

It’s a nice Birthday Eve ever!

Patissier Toshi Yoroizuka

I went to Japanese famous Patissier Toshi Yoroizuka at Midtown Roppongi to get few cakes.

Though, he is famous and popular; I tried his cake for first time today because his shop is always crowded.

I bought seasonal Relais Sakura (Sakura Roll Cake) and Choux Paysanne (Nuts Choux).

I enjoyed them with my friend over 7 hours chatting.

We had to catch up for a year.

Be Lated Valentine Chocolates

During office hour I received a call from delivery man.

According to him, he managed to enter my apartment building so he asked my permission to leave boxes in front of my door.

I was expecting two kinds/dozens of mineral water for hot drink and purely drinking that I ordered through Amazon.

I told him it’s okay to leave there because these are water.

Then he continues, “what about chocolates?”

I was silent because I didn’t order any chocolates.

He quickly continues, “I will leave it in a mail box so please check it later.”

I thanked him and wondered.

Not many people knows my home address.

Furthermore, in Japan, women give chocolates to confess/express their feeling to men.

So it’s odd for me to receive chocolates.

I returned home and check the mail box.

Yes, there is a box of chocolate with a letter.

Chocolates are from an old couple that I had dinner with at Year-End with my mutual friends.

This is a box of Jacques Torres Chocolate New York.

A couple were saying they planned to visit their daughter who currently works in New York during the dinner.

It’s so sweet of them to bring a box of chocolates for me from New York!

These chocolates are sweet, delicate and sensitive and I love them every bites!

Thank you!

Gong Xi Fa Cai

Happy New Chinese Year!

I’m not Chinese, but it’s Chinese New Year.

I want to do something Chinese today.

Therefore, I watched a movie, Man Hunt, which is collaborated between Japanese and Chinese and directed by Chinese Director, Mr. John Woo.

I watched the movie with subtitle because Chinese actors and actresses speak in Chinese.

It was 7:15 pm show so I changed cinema mileage (yes, we can cumulate mileage by watching movies) to a free drink and popcorn.

After the movie, I went out for Chinese dinner at my favorite Chinese restaurant, Tsim Sha Tsui, Roppongi.

It was late, but the owner is very kind allowing us in.

We wished her Gong Xi Fa Cai, then she gave us a dessert!

How sweet of her!

This is her way of giving me a sweet Ang pie (good luck red envelope)!

Thank you and….

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Long Friday Night

I went to Yokohama China Town to celebrate early Chinese New Year with Japanese friends.

I had dinner at Yokihi (Yang Gui Fei).

It’s usually opened as boutique and cafe.

My friend knows the owner so he asked to open for dinner.

We enjoyed home cooking dinner and these are very delicious!

After dinner, we continued talking at Nodoguroya Kakiemon, Nakameguro.

It’s nice casual restaurant: oyster house.

This is real TGIF!

Opening Goodies

I had a nice lunch at the Manhattan Fish Market, Shibuya today.

I had grilled mayonnaise shrimp, fried fish, French fries, rice and brownie.

I also had bites of fried chicken and mud pie. Yammy

Somehow, I’m lucky these days.

I received many goodies yesterday and today.

These are from different countries.

Lovely Japanese confectionery

Japanese traditional rice topping and seasoning.

Pineapple cakes from Taiwan

Water bottle from Malaysia.

These two days were early Valentine for me.

Thank you my friends for your thoughts!
