Super Kabuki “Yamato Takeru”

Watched Super Kabuki “Yamatotakeru” on the first day (4 February 2024).

Kabuki is a Japanese traditional play, originated in Kyoto in year 1603.

Super Kabuki is modern and acrobatic comparing to traditional programme.

I used to watch Kabuki frequently with my late grandmother.

I miss her greatly thinking we did this and that together then.

首 / Kubi

Original work, script and Directed by Takeshi Kitano

He also played a main character in a movie: Hideyoshi Hashiba.

He is famous and popular Japanese comedian who built his carrier and finance over decades.

Today he directs movies and his movies such as Zatoichi, HANABI and Outrage were nominated and won awards at Venice International Film Festival, Cannes International Film Festival and many more.

Honestly, this is my first time watching his movie and I do admit he has great talent.

He interpreted interestingly and creates a total different WORLD for the famous period of Japanese history, quite shocking to me even I’m Japanese.

Kubi has few meaning, literally “neck” and also “head”.

Awesome movie; must watch movie

Unfortunately I expired my membership at Toho Cinemas by not going to movie theater for a year.

I had to rejoin and made a new member card.

It’s special edition with Godzilla. Not bad at all!
