Sunday @ Roppongi, Tokyo

Today, my friends from Malaysia visited me in Roppongi, Tokyo.

I took them to Toraya Cafe, Tokyo Midtown, Roppongi, Tokyo.

I also wanted to try Toraya’s shave ice.

I heard about it, but haven’t tried because I always see a long queue for the restaurant.

This time, I stayed on the queue.

I tried Uji Mizore (greentea shave ice with white sweet azuki beans).

I added three shiratama (rice-flour balls).

So delicious!

There is a big electric panel for entertainment.

There is an event collaborating with the electric board and 300 fireworks; but we didn’t have time to wait for it for another hour.

We missed the fireworks.

We also stopped by to catch Doraemons at Roppongi Hills.

There are many Doraemons!

My friend is so sweet.

She carried bath salts what my other friend asked her to bring them for me.

These are heavy…

It’s so sweet of my friend to thought of me because she knows I take bath every night.

And another friend who brought all the way from Malaysia and carried for a day till she she sees me today.

No joke, these are heavy!

I’m happy to have thoughful friends!

Yes, I soaked in the bath and feel refreshing!

Hammer Gettttttttt!

There was a concern about Typhoon 5.

It was 50:50 to dive today.

Nonetheless, I departed Tokyo by Shinkansen (Kodama 631) at 6:33 am and arrived Izukyu Shimoda Station by Ito line at 8:48 am.

The wave was high, but we could dive today.

And……

Finally, I saw a Hammer…

He was alone…

There was a distance between us, but I saw him…

A photo might not clear enough, but I think you can still see his figure.

Now I’m a certificate diver to see a Hammerhead Shark.

After finally have seen one, now I want to see a group of them… many Hammers!!!!

This is never ending adventures…

Today, I went to Mimatsu-Zushi Shimoda Station Branch to celebrate catching a Hammer!

I enjoyed every bite of sushi!

Bono Bono!

This Sushi restaurant serves many fresh local sushi that I highly recommend to visit!

Now let’s sleep to dream of meeting many Hammers….zzzzzz

Foodie Report: Gathering @ Restaurant Kern, Toranomon, Tokyo

Seven of us get together to enjoy Japanese style western food and drinks.

Of course, we chat on many issues: trips, hobbies, self improvement, politics, memories, etc.

A group of us get together at every season (quarter).

I look forward for this gathering because we are all from different companies, industries and age group; interesting.

And we all love to enjoy good food and drinks!

A party set, 7 dishes and all you can drink for 2 hours, is JPY 5,200.

This restaurant opened in 1962.

If you want to try Japanese style western food; this is the place.

Diving @ Kushimoto, Wakayama

Kushimoto is located at the southeast point of Japan’s Honshu (main island).

The dive shop, Coral Queen, owns a boat and takes us to off shore points if the condition permits.

I’m lucky and went to all off shore points, 5 dives in two days.

On Saturday, I went to Shimamawari, Ichinone and Ninone; on Sunday, Ninone and Ichinone.

These diving spots are with interesting landscape, fish (tropical fish, too) and creatures (including edible ones such as Ise Lobsters, Slipper Lobster and shells) and corals (hard and soft).

Rockfish with a group of Silver-Stripe Round Herring

Crack

I named it, Half Dome, or is it more like Shark Fin?

Boxfish

Many fish

Corals

You can see that ocean is beautiful; therefore, seafood is so fresh and delicious!!

Lunch at Coral Queen is nice: Shirasu-don (Baby Sardine Bowl)

And dinner at town, Matsu-zushi.

It’s a bit far from Tokyo, 7 hours to reach there, but I would love to go back Kushimoto, Wakayama again to enjoy diving and food!

Enhancing My Time @ Gym and Room

It is a Japanese national holiday today: Ocean Day.

It’s been hot in Japan and there was no national holiday in July.

Japanese government was smart to create a national holiday in July for a break.

However, my office opened today.

It’s been a quiet day so I went out for lunch.

I had a Freahness Burger’s Cheese Burger set.

It’s a nice Japanese burger shop and delicious, but I learned that calory is high…

delicious food always with calories…… ahhhhhh

Boss left the office and I was alone in the office this afternoon.

I quickly finished writing reports and sending emails to make time to further study about privileges of being Amazon Prime members.

Annual fee of JPY 3,900 covers fast delivery fee, video and music.

I was considering to enhance my time at gym and room with these video and music.

I had time to Pochi.

Happy Saturday

I started my Saturday by going to hair salon.

After beautifying, went for lunch at my favorite Tenpura shop, Mikaku @ Roppongi.

Ummmm delicious!

It is a Hoozuki Ichi (Chinese Lantern Plant Market) day at Asahi Shrine.

Hoozuki protect us from bad lucks.

So beautiful.

I didn’t buy it but I got blessed by looking at them and praying at the Shrine.

I got these cute shoes as sourvenirs from Ho Chi Minh (Saigon), Vietnam.

Soles are also cute!

Thank you!

I had Ichiran Ramen for dinner.

There are many foreigners at Ichiran tonight.

Ichiran opened a branch in Taiwan recently and there was a news that many people queue in line.

I like their noodle.

Their ordering system is unique.

If you are interested, please check my old post for how to order at Ichiran.

Trip to the US (Day 1 Vol. 3)

The flight to San Jose was comfortable.

The flight was smooth (not jumpy) and I had a small cubical to myself with side table.

I enjoyed Japanese dinner while watching Beauty and the Beast.

I cried because it’s far better than I expected.

After dinner, I watched another movie, an action movie: John Wick Chapter 2.

I sky-shopped a travel kit of Morrocan Oil.

I bought a bottle of it from Amazon before and I like how my hair looks after applying this.

I finished it already and I think it’s nice to have a travel size.

Then I again enjoyed Japanese breakfast.

Even I ate Japanese breakfast, it would be nice to have a cup of coffee.

Now I can see San Jose!

I feel funny; in Japan it’s a day ahead and already on 18 June 2017, but now it’s still 17 June 2017 – Day 1 of my trip.

San Jose is known as Silicon Valley, but the airport is very analog.

We stopped at Safeway (supermarket) to buy water and lunch.

I was still full from breakfast so I bought snacks. hahaha

The first sightseeing spot was Golden Gate Bridge.

This bridge was built 80 years ago.

I was lucky because there was no fog and I failed to take a photo, but I could carxh whales swimming.

There is a walk way so I walked on the bright!

I can also have a good view of Alcatraz Island, the famous former prison island.

After a short and pleasant walk, we headed to a hotel in Modesto by passing famous Bay Bridge.

Amazing, a half part of bridge was also built 80 years ago.

In Japan, there is Bay Bridge in Yokohama.

Hopefully, one day I can post about Japanese Bay Bridge.
