Business Trip to Fukui (Day 2)

I ate a lot yesterday; therefore, I took a simple breakfast: Fukui sour plum onigiri (rice ball) and a coffee.

We departed for three company visits.

First, we visited Muroji, the world oldest soy sauce producer since 1573.

It has 450 years of experience in soy sauce making.

This company is also the first Japanese soy sauce manufacturer to export Japanese soy sauce 150 years ago.

The company wants to expand their overseas market so that one day you might find their products at the supermarkets near you.

Second, we visited Matsuura Machinery Corporation.

The company manufactures machine tools with high performance.

Their machine can produce high precision machine parts for various industries such as aerospace, medical device, machinery (cutting tool) and premium motor sports such as F1.

They can offer various attractive machines such as 5 Axis machine tools and hybrid 3D printer which conducts both sintering and milling.

The factory visit was so much fun! Exciting.

After exciting company visits, we had lunch at the Bell Shopping Mall before last company visit.

I enjoyed nice sushi.

The last company visit was to Masunaga Optical Mfg Co Ltd.

I wanted to visit this eyeglasses manufacturer because former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin made this company famous by wearing their eyeglasses.

Today their eyeglasses are popular among many celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Christiano Ronaldo, etc.

The founders of Masunaga, Masunaga Brothers, wanted to create the industry in Fukui to creat jobs for the society.

They trained artisans and when they were ready allowed them to start their own business.

That is why there are many eyeglasses manufacturers located in Fukui.

Their products are sophisticated and stylish.

I plan to visit their shop in Tokyo: Masunaga 1905, Tokyo Aoyama Store.

It was fulfilling 2-day visit.

Sayonara Fukui.

I departed Fukui by Shirasaki.

Pet Hotel @ Green Dog, Tokyo Midtown Roppongi

I wanted to come back home earlier to spend more time with Choco but I couldn’t due to a last minutes preparation for business trip to Fukui tomorrow.

I took Choco a walk before reaching to the pet hotel, Green Dog Tokyo Midtown Roppongi.

He was happy and excited when we reached there.

He might have thought we went there for shopping.

He even asked to go down to play.

It was time for me to pass Choco.

I was half crying.

Now I’m alone at home for the first time since you joined to my life.

He usually takes my slipper away.

He usually asks me to go to the bed after 11 pm.

Tonight I’m going to the bed alone.

I miss you so much!

Be good; I will rush back home the day after tomorrow.

Anahachiman (Anahachiman Shrine), Waseda, Tokyo

This became my routine so that this is not my first time to post about my visit to Snahachiman ak Yuzusama (accommodates our needs).

On 3 February, I will place this charm as instructed: West side of room, facing East.

I had Hiroshimayaki (okonomiyaki in Hiroshima style, with noodles) at Kurumi, Kagurazaka, Tokyo.

I bought a down jacket at the select shop Strasburgo, Tokyo Midtown Roppongi.

It’s in light champagne gold.

Nice Things

I was looking for a room fragrance and I would say this is the aroma of wine!

When I walked by the shop (IDEE SHOP, Tokyo Midtown Roppongi), the aroma reminded me nice full body wine.

The fragrance is very berries: thick, sweet, and spicy.

Please try

Dr. Vranjes Rosso Nobile, Firenze, Italy

I also received nice spa set, Tanamera Spa, Malaysia.

I will try them out to improve my beauty!

Bourgogne Red Wine Seminar @ Enoteca Marunouchi Lounge

This is my fourth wine seminar.

I finally start understanding what Sensei (teacher and sommelier) is saying or lecturing.

Today I tasted five glasses and they are

2014 Morey-Saint-Denis

2016 Chambolle-Musigny

2015 Volnay

2016 Francois Lumpp

2015 Cote de Brouilly

The very right glass is Beaujolais.

Beaujolais wine is very popular among Japanese so I usually have a glass or more every season.

Today. this glass surprised me.

It is whitish, must be bottom portion of bottle, and smell of ANIMAL like Jibie.

The smell is so strong; therefore, I couldn’t finish a glass…

I am not exaggerating; my friends agreed!

After the lesson, my friend gave me these souvenirs from Seoul.

So sweet of her!

12 December 2018: Christmas Shopping

Mom has been asking me to take her for Christmas Shopping, particularly Christmas Tree Hunting.

She is looking for a Christmas Tree.

We are looking for 2 m or higher, a large size for typical Japanese housing.

Therefore, I took her to IKEA Tokyo Bay (Funabashi/HQ) and Costco Makuhari.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t find a suitable Christmas Tree, but bought necessaries such as sparkling juice, chocolates, cheese, mixed nuts, etc for coming Christmas dinner.

I love Scandinavian designed household products at IKEA.

I love American food and goods.

We bought two dresses for a little niece; she loves them.

At the evening, I went to Ginza Mitsukoshi Department to buy appreciation gift for our flower arrangement teacher together with a mate.

We made a set with Fortnum & Mason Christmas Spiced Tea and Shortbread.

Hope she would enjoy them.

3 January 2019

I bought my little niece a piano lesson book at Book Shop Book First Roppongi for her New Year Gift yesterday.

There are words for songs, music notes and piano keys inside.

The notes and keys are indicated in colors to learn easily and there is self play mode to learn rhythm as well.

I’m happy to see her playing over and over.

The room was full of music then.

Now she went back home so it’s quiet in house.

I miss her.

7 December 2018

I assisted photo shootings of product, superfood Granola, at Tokyo Gas Shiodome Cooking Studio, Shiodome, Tokyo.

We moved to Prince Hotel Karuizawa for the meeting with the Chief Chef of the area hotel to recommend serving Superfood Granola for the hotel breakfast.

The hotel, Prince Hotel Karuizawa, will host G20 summit in 2019.

This would be a great opportunity to introduce the product globally.

We had our lunch on the Shinkansen (bullet train) on the way to Karuizawa, Gunma.

Many foreign tourists visit Karuizawa for golfing, skiing and shopping at Mitsui Outlet Karuizawa.

The Chef waited for us to serve special menu using Superfood Granola.

What a nice surprise!

These were so good.

I wish we could stay longer, perhaps, staying at the hotel for the holiday.
