Visiting Toy Park Hakuhindo@Ginza

This place must is a dreamland for kids and even for adults.

My friend from the US asked me to get Pokémon Cards for her sons.

But there are too many series and different kinds: the Moon and the Sun, the starter kits, energy kit…

I was totally lost.

I don’t have any knowledge on toys, but I like to walk into this shop to find new ones.

I would love to go back there.

Who hates toys?

What’s Happened to a Steak?

When I woke up this morning, I wasn’t that hungry.

I decided to have a smoothie instead of a steak.

Oh, I’m adding lemon to get more vitamins!

I think it’s a good idea to add lemon!

When I have time, I cook lunch, bring it to the office and eat it at my desk.

After arranging flower…

At the class, I had some almonds, snacks and this good luck sweets, Hachifukumochi, from Hikawa Shrine.

Since this year is predicted bad for me, I’m glad that I can have one.

Thank you my friend to share good luck with me!

I had some snacks at the class; therefore, I have no choice, but to have smoothie for dinner.

What’s happened to that steak?

I cooked it for tomorrow’s lunch.

To be honest, I want to eat it now.

I’m hungry…

Dining with Friends from LA

I couldn’t post last night because I had too much fun.
I was too happy to see my friends from LA; therefore, I had too much sake. Ahhhhh

We went to Torihide at Roppongi because they requested Yakitori (chicken skewer).

Torihide is conveniently located at the Roppongi junction.

We can also order sushi because a sushi restaurant, Hachibei, above is a same group company.

Food is good and it never gets crowded.

But again, food is nice and location is good.

I wonder why this restaurant is always quiet.

Maybe because it’s on B1 (basement); we cannot check the restaurant from the street…?

Last night, we owned the place as if we rent out a whole restaurant. hahaha

After dinner, we went to T.G.I. Friday’s for dessert.
Oh, I miss these!!

My friends also gave me nice souvenirs…

We met last night, but I already miss them… hahaha

Returning to Office, Ahhhhh

Ohayo Ginza!

There aren’t many people on the street at this hour because it’s still New Year holiday season in Japan.

My office building’s main door is closed; I entered a building using a card key to open a side door.

It was a quiet day so I managed to clear my desk and mails.

This should be the way to start a new year!

I punched out at 5 pm to go out dinner with my Singaporean friends.

I had a gorgeous dessert, a strawberry parfait, at Takano Fruit Parlor Main Store, Shinjuku.

There are three different strawberries on the parfait and white one named Hatsukoi (First Love).  Yammy!!!

My Singaporean friends are so sweet.

A couple gave me souvenirs: TWG TEA and Sakura Cookies from the Cookie Museum.

Surely, I’ll enjoy them!

Thank you my friends for your thoughts and I wish you a safe journey back to Singapore!

Japanese Traditional Gift Wrapping

The other day, I visited my friend and her new born baby.

He is adorable.

I brought a small gift for her baby boy.

Today, I received a surprise from them, a box of confectioneries.

It was wrapped with a normal wrapping paper.

Then it was wrapped by a traditional cover for appreciation.
I hide a name of sender with a sticker to be posted on my blog; yes, that is where semder’s name is written.

I ate some and these are good…too good that I cannot stop. Ahhhhh

Short Trip to Malaysia

On 3 November, it is Japanese national holiday, Cultural Day.
I found ANA’s new line, NH 885 between Handa (Tokyo) and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This flight departs Haneda at 00:05 hrs and arrives KL at 6:45 hrs.

I can work on the departure day to maximize my stay in Malaysia.

It’s worth taking few days off, right?

I took dinner at ANA Lounge;

enjoyed snacks/finger food with champagne on the plane;

we had a breakfast (eggs Benedict style with veal sausage served with Japanese Hiruzen jersey butter and blood orange jam) before arriving KL.

Let’s start my holiday in Malaysia!

Saturday Night Activities

Enjoyed dinner at the Moon, Roppongi Hills 52F.

The Moon is an observation restaurant to enjoy Tokyo’s skyline while we enjoy dinner.

After enjoyed dinner and conversation with friends, we went to the Kokucho no Mizuumi (the Black Swan) in Shinjuku.

Ladies are beautiful and glamorous, but they are all  transgenders. Wow.

We enjoyed watching their performance; dance, dance, dance ♪

After midnight, there are still many people on the street walking in their Halloween costume.

Town is also decorated for Halloween.

In Japan, Halloween is for adults to go out for parting.

Trick or Treat.

Ariake & Odaiba Area

When I came out from Tokyo Big Sight, I heard music and saw people looking up.

Projection mapping was demonstrated ON Tokyo Big Sight.

I didn’t know about this so I wasn’t prepared.

I wish I could take a better photo to share it. Ahhhhh

I went to Odaiba for dinner.

I’ve posted photos of Odaiba few times, but I love the scenery of Tokyo from here…Tokyo Tower, Rainbow Bridge and highrise buildings…in addition, yakatabune (Japanese traditional boats).

The wheather is nice to walk around the area.

We can spot Halloween decoration here and there.

You might seen the scenery; but don’t you think these are gorgeous?

ONE OK ROCK

I’m Japanese and currently living in Tokyo.

But surprisingly, my overseas friends update me on Japanese games, anime, manga, songs and even singers.

This time, again, non-Japanese introduced me a Japanese rock group: ONE OK ROCK.

Among Japanese, we call this band, WANOKU – shorter version of ONE OK ROCK.

I’ve seen a vocal on TV, but I registered him as WANOKU so it didn’t click to me when I was introduced to a band, ONE OK ROCK.

It clicked to me when I listened to their music on YouTube.

A vocal, Taka appears on a talk show.

His parents are both famous Enka (Japanese traditional songs) singers: Masako Mori and Shinichi Mori – no wonder, he has nice voice to sing.

And he was once a member of famous pop group, NEWS.

He was singing pop music then, but he decided to leave the group to sing what he wants to sing – rock music.

He stayed in the US to polish his English so he also sings in English, allowing them to conduct world tours – no wonder the group is popular in overseas.

Thanks to WordPress to connect me to people abroad!
