Relaxing Sunday

I started my day going to gym today because I wanted to watch an episode of Suites. hahaha

I came back home to take a bath; I like to take a bath in the morning.

It’s very relaxing.

Then I went to beauty salon.

I look forward to going to beauty salon because I enjoy talking to my beautician.

We talk about everything and surprisingly we can share many stories, too because we bump each other often: on the street, at a station and a restaurant.

After chatting, I brewed Peet’s Coffee.

It’s nice and rich.

Peet’s Coffee originated in Berkeley, California.
And this Peet’s Coffee inspired founders of Starbucks to start coffee shops.
Yes, it’s that nice.

I bought few packs when I visited L.A. last time, July 2015, but I finished them.

Recently, I got supply from my American friend.
When can I get my next supply…?

School Reunion!

Today, I met classmates for lunch at T.Y Harbor Brewery Restaurant, Tokyo.

This restaurant is located over viewing Tokyo Bay.

There are tanks to brew beer at this restaurants.

Some of us, we haven’t met since high school, but we could talk as if we’ve been seen each other often.

It’s nice to get united again.

School mates are special!

Cheers!

Asian Dinner, yet International

It’s hot; I felt lazy to cook tonight.

My friends gave me these canned and frozen food.

These are pratha (Malaysian product, nice and butterly), Thai Green Curry (surprisingly this is a made in Japan product) and chili tuna (Malaysian products, interestingly tuna fish is spicy).

I was lacking vegetable fibers so I thought I should add a seaweed miso soup.

I bought this package at Kamaishi, Iwate which contains dried wakame and tororo seaweed, shrimp, etc.

With this, I don’t need to cook stock; I cook these with hot water and add miso paste.

I also bought this miso paste at Shin Hanamaki, Iwate.

One of major industries for Iwate prefecture is agriculture.

I enjoyed their fresh seafood, meat products, dairy products and vegetables while traveling there last May.

The area was hit by the Great Eastern Earthquake and Kamaishi area was wiped off by Tsunami on 11 March 2011; but Iwate people are kind and tough.

I received their warm smiles and hospitality.

I buy their products to support them.

Malaysian Day!

A nice family invited me for lunch, home made Malaysian food.

I had Sarawakian Laksa (noodle), beef, chicken, tomato rice and nice Sarawakian layered cakes, cookies and fruit.

It was delicious and we enjoyed our conversation while eating.

Tonight, I was invited for dinner at the Manhattan Fish Market at Ikebukuro.

I haven’t met them for two years and I was excited to see them again!

Food is American style fried seafood, but this restaurant is Malaysian franchise restaurant.

It was interestingly a Malaysian Day!!

At last, I met Ultraman! hahaha

Earthquake

Tokyo was just hit by an earthquake, Magnitude 5.0.

Yes, this is nothing new to us.

We’ve been hit by earthquakes for many years since I was little.

However, the shake has changed since March 11, 2011.

Before the March 11 2011 earthquake, it swayed sideways, but now it hits vertically.

I don’t like this vertical earthquake.

Yes, the vertical quake reminds me of dark days; we were all sad and depressed.

Simultaneously, it reminds me the importance of family and friends.

I received a cheer-up message from many friends from the globe.

My friend in the US, she sent me a care package by FEDEX.

I appreciate family and friends.

Yes, I am a happy person❤️

Dr. Stop

My skin started getting reddish, itchy and ugly acne on last Saturday, on the last day of my vacation.

I didn’t know what went wrong.

I went to fresh aired countries; I ate healthy.

I went to see my dermatologist on Tuesday after work.

I was tired, but I decided to wait patiently, though a signage said a three hours waiting.

Luckily, my name was called after 1.5 hrs.

He asked me when he looked at my face, “what’s happened? Your skin was good!”

I replied, “Doc, my skin started getting red and bumps after returning from my holiday.”

“Where did you go? Did you go to the beach to expose under strong sun?”

“No, no, I went to fresh aired countries, Scandinavian countries. Of course, sunshine is strong so I applied a base lotion which has SPF function that I bought at the Narita Airport’s Duty Free Shop to protect from these strong sunshine.”

(The Narita Airport’s Duty Free Shops are well-stocked for cosmetics and enable to buy new products.)

“Ahhhh, is it oily?”

“Hummm, I could say it’s oily, but I applied it about a week and my skin was fine for almost a week. It’s branded.”

“You cannot use an oily product for your skin. It will give you troubles only.”

“Really? It’s branded!”

“I don’t think fresh air caused this. I suspect the cosmetics.”

“So I shouldn’t use it…?”

“I suspect the cosmetics. You changed only that.”

I informed Mom that I’ll give the cosmetics to her.

She is looking forward to use it and she asked me to bring it tonight when I see parents for dinner.

She asked me what type of lotion that I can use.

Well, my skin improved with what Doc gave me such as vitamins lotion.

She said, “That’s simple? Why did you buy the cosmetics then”

“Because I thought I can enhance my skin….”

Then my friends, “you’ve been telling us how sensitive your skin is. No branded products for sensitive skin. No! No! No!”

I thought I can enhance my skin.

Sigh, again…
I spent money to damage my skin….

I’m glad that my skin is improving after seeing a dermatologist.

Gum

I thought Sweden is famous for xylitole.

I bought this packet at the airport duty free shop asuming these are local products.

Well, I guess I was wrong.

I could read these tiny letters “Poland”…

Well, I cannot find it in Japan so it can still serve as souvenirs….?

Lawry’s The Prime Rib

img_9108

I had a nice dinner at Lawry’s the Prime Rib Tokyo.

I enjoyed their Prime Rib with seasonal dishes: asparagus soup, famous Lawry’s spinning bowl salad, scallops, and dessert.

We enjoyed all dishes with nice glasses/two bottles of red wine.

The wine surely enhanced the flavour of food.

I don’t need to explain how it was, the photo speaks itself.

Yes, it was delicious….the ambience is nice and enjoyed a conversation with nice companies.

This restaurant started in Los Angeles in 1938.

Lawry’s The Prime Rib Tokyo opened in Akasaka, Tokyo in 2001.

In March 2014, the restaurant reopened at the Ebisu Garden Place due to rebuilding the previous location building.

I still remember what was happened there when I was dining at the old Lawry’s the Prime Rib Tokyo in Akasaka.

Dad was there, too!

I sneaked to his table to surprise him.

Yes, he was very very very surprised!

I still remember how he looked!!! hahaha

I again enjoyed food and moment at Lawry’s the Prime Rib Tokyo tonight ♥

Schoolmate

Processed with MOLDIV
Processed with MOLDIV

I met my schoolmate for lunch today.

We are friends since Junior High School.

We talked like we were still teenagers. 5.5 hours!!! Non-Stop!!!

We also enjoyed nice Hiroshima local food, Taichazuke (Red Snapper with Soup).

This way is Hiroshima way of enjoying Red Snapper.

This restaurant, Ochi Kochi, serves all Hiroshima specialties.

The restaurant is located at B1 Floor of Tau Hiroshima antenna shop where we can also shop Hiroshima products.

Hiroshima is located southern Japan, famous for oysters, lemons, etc.

I bought a Sake Zoka; it’s sweet and fruity♪

I didn’t know I’ve been supporting Hiroshima by purchasing various Hiroshima products such as lemon juice.

You can tell that I didn’t buy it today because the bottle is empty!!!

We continued to talk at Starbucks.

We both enjoyed a seasonal drink, Baked Cheese Cake Frappuccino.

Thanks for being my good friend!!!

I look forward for our next girls chat! XOXO

Korean BBQ Dinner

I had Korean BBQ dinner with friends.

They made me laugh so hard so that I forgot to take a photo of nice dinner. hahaha

Eating Japanese wagyu beef in Korean BBQ style is popular among Japanese.

Do you know that a popular dish, beef tongue, was innovated by Japanese and now it became a popular dish in Korea?
